Last week: Beat McEachern 52-49. John Urzua passed for 498 yards and seven touchdowns and drove North Gwinnett to the winning touchdown with a 68-yard drive that began with 1:48 left. Urzua completed 38 of 48 passes. His top receivers were Josh Imatorbhebhe (eight catches, 173 yards, three touchdowns), Daniel Imatorbhebhe (10-73-2) and Kyler Knudsen (8-140-1). North Gwinnett led in total offense 576-470. McEachern entered the game with several national rankings and the No. 1 spot in Georgia. Next: Friday vs. North Cobb (0-1)

Last week: Beat Lincoln (Fla.) 49-27. Camden led 35-14 at halftime and wasn't threatened from there. Preseason all-state DB/RB Antonio Wimbush had 27 yards rushing, 47 yards receiving, a 40-yard punt return, a 76-yard kick return, one tackle for a loss, a blocked kick, a forced fumble and a pass breakup. Sophomore RB Brandon McMasters rushed for 90 yards and a touchdown on eight carries. Darryl Johnson had three tackles for losses. Next: Friday vs. Dutchtown (1-0)

4. (9) Norcross (1-0)

Last week: Beat Tucker 32-29. Blake Bingham made a 28-yard field goal in overtime, and LB J.B. Kouassi recovered a fumble on Tucker's second play of the extra period to end the game. Bingham had missed a 24-yarder on the final play of regulation. Kouassi, one of only two returning starters on Norcross' defense, also was credited with an 18-yard sack. Norcross QB Griffin Barker, making his first start, was 20-of-34 passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for a team-leading 60 yards and scored a touchdown. Taj Griffin rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns and Bailey Hockman passed for 302 yards and four touchdowns, but McEachern surrendered 576 yards in total offense to North Gwinnett. WR T.J. Last week: Beat Mays 27-7. Hughes trailed 7-6 at halftime but surged ahead as sophomore QB Isaiah Green, replacing injured starter Kinan Humphrey in the second quarter, threw two TD passes, one for 15 yards to Montavious Atkinson for a 20-7 lead late in the third quarter. DL D'Andre Walker had three sacks. Mays was held to 134 yards in total offense, 81 on one TD run by Rowmartis Bell. Next: Friday vs. Creekside (1-0)

8. (NR) Lowndes (1-0)

Last week: Beat Roswell 37-14. Lowndes led 37-0 in the third quarter and finished the game with a running clock. Dezmon Copeland, one of 13 Lowndes ball carriers, rushed for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Seven Lowndes defenders had tackles for losses. Preseason all-state LB Brian Bell blocked a punt that Carlos Lee recovered for a touchdown. Roswell got 123 of its 159 yards in total offense after trailing 37-0. Next: Friday vs. Plant, Fla. (0-0)

Last week: Lost to Norcross 32-29. Tucker came from 22-7 down in the second half to force overtime but lost a fumble in the extra period after Norcross made a field goal. RB Delvin Weems, a transfer from Sandy Creek, rushed for 157 yards on 17 carries. Tucker lost four fumbles and was penalized 15 times for 158 yards. Next: Saturday vs. B.T. Washington, Fla. (1-0)

10. (3) Archer (0-1)

Last week: Lost to Sandy Creek 21-13. Archer led 13-0 at halftime but surrendered three touchdowns in the third quarter and had no answer for Sandy Creek RB Eric Swinney, who ran for 234 yards. Archer lost four turnovers in Sandy Creek territory. Randy Nails rushed for 110 yards for Archer. Gabe Tiller was 11-of-26 passing for 237 yards and an 80-yard TD strike to Kyle Davis. 1. (1) Creekside (1-0)

Last week: Beat South Cobb 55-41. Bricen Terry (204) and Julian Gibbs (203) each rushed for more than 200 yards for Creekside, which trailed at one point 17-7 and led only 31-27 late in the third quarter before breaking away. Creekside's Super 11 WR Jayson Stanley did not return after suffering an apparent left knee injury in the opening quarter. South Cobb QB Kylil Carter rushed for 255 yards and scored four touchdowns. 2. (2) Stephenson (1-0)

Last week: Beat Arabia Mountain 41-6. Ivonte Patterson rushed for 127 yards and three touchdowns on just seven carries. New starting QB Dewann Ford was 4-of-10 passing for 53 yards and rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown. RB Kyseem Tillman scored Stephenson's two touchdowns in the first quarter. Super 11 DL Chauncey Rivers had 2.5 tackles for losses. Stephenson led in total yardage 397-112. Next: Saturday vs. Central Miami (1-0)

Last week: Beat North Oconee 27-14. Sophomore RB Demetrius Davis rushed for 101 yards on eight carries and scored three touchdowns, and QB Tyree Paulk was 17-of-23 passing for 100 yards. Coffee held Kawon Bryant to 96 yards on 26 carries. Next: Friday vs. Savannah (0-1)

4. (4) Northside-Warner Robins (1-0)

Last week: North Cobb 38-20. Northside put up 499 yards in total offense and controlled the ball for 31:40 of 48 minutes. RB Willie Jordan rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. QB Tobias Oliver was 6-for-8 passing for 112 yards and rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown. North Cobb QB Tyler Queen, a preseason all-state pick and Auburn pledge, was 9-of-30 passing for 264 yards and three touchdowns. Next: Sept. 5 at Evans (1-0)

Last week: Beat Brooks County 31-6. Ware County rushed for 367 yards rushing with 11 ball carriers in Franklin Stephens' debut as head coach. The final quarter was played with a running clock. RB/LB Dedrick Mills rushed for 102 yards and a touchdown on seven carries. QB Xavier Hollmon was 7-of-12 passing for 61 yards. Ware County had a 428-134 advantage in total yards. Last week: Beat Carrollton 20-7. Cam Rosendahl was 16-of-22 passing for 180 yards, and Itabari Mason rushed for 89 yards and scored a touchdown for Kell, which led 17-0 at half and didn't allow a drive of longer than 17 yards until Carrollton's eighth possession. Two-way starter Bryson Armstrong had a team-leading six solo tackles - two for losses - and caught nine passes for 107 yards. He scored Kell's first touchdown on defense. Last week: Beat Carver (Atlanta) 12-6. Carver of Columbus forced a wide receiver out of bounds at its 3-yard line as time expired to secure the victory. The Columbus Carver led 12-0 and had a first-and-goal from the 5 to add to the first-half lead but came up short. Isham Alexander rushed for 108 yards and a touchdown but played little in the second half because of an injury, according to the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. Carver of Atlanta completed a 22-yard pass to the 3 on the game's final play. Last week: Beat East Paulding 27-21. Russell Halimon rushed for 209 yards on 39 carries. RB Josh Bettistea, a preseason all-state pick, did not play for undisclosed reasons. Allatoona blocked a punt and scored on a short drive for the winning touchdown. The game was the Region 5-AAAAA opener. Allatoona had been 0-2 against East Paulding. Next: Friday at Villa Rica (1-0)

Last week: Trinity Christian (Fla.) 17-0. Buford allowed 56 yards in total offense and shut out a team ranked No. 7 in one national poll. Buford scored touchdowns on its first two possessions. Last week: Beat Archer 21-13. Eric Swinney rushed for 231 yards and a touchdown on 34 carries, and Sandy Creek overcame a 13-0 halftime deficit, scoring 21 points in the third quarter. Javonte Lain had two tackles for losses. Archer had a first-and-goal at the Sandy Creek 7 in the final seconds, but Antonio Trapp made an interception in the end zone to seal the victory. Callaway scored its first touchdown on a receiver pass from Braylon Sanders to Terry Godwin with 4:59 left. RB/LB Eddie Culpepper scored the tying touchdown on a 6-yard run with 21 seconds left. Dedrick Johnson returned a kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter after Swainsboro's only score. It was the most lopsided win in 55 years for Vidalia in a series that dates to 1925.
