Here is a look at the results from Saturday’s holiday basketball tournaments around the state with updates from schools competing in national events:

Peach State Holiday Classic at Clayton State: For the boys, Eagle's Landing Christian defeated North Clayton 60-38. Southwest DeKalb beat Jonesboro 63-58 in overtime after trailing 30-23 at the break. At the end of three quarters, Jonesboro lead 42-34 and with 2:22 left in regulation, the Cardinals nursed a 52-47 lead. With 53 seconds left in regulation, Southwest DeKalb climbed to within four points (52-48) and with 24.2 seconds remaining, it was a two-point game, 54-52, before Southwest DeKalb pulled it even at 54 as the game headed into overtime.

War Lodge Classic at Sequoyah: For the boys, Dawson County defeated North Cobb 70-50 after taking a 22-11 lead in the first quarter. The Tigers pulled away with a 27-4 run in the third quarter which put the game away. Chattooga defeated The King's Academy 56-54 after falling behind 20-16 after the first quarter and 29-26 at the half. Chattooga's 18-11 run in the fourth quarter closed out the comeback. Alpharetta's defeated Washington 85-62.

War Eagle Classic at Woodward: For the boys, Rome's Caleb Byrd scored 51 points in the 81-71 victory over Forest Park. Hosting Woodward had three players – Walker Kessler (20 points), Logan Stephens (13 points) and Jacorrei Turner (12 points) – in double-figures in its 59-53 victory over Miramar. Kevin Powell scored six points with 10 rebounds. Pace Academy outlasted Hewitt-Trussville, Ala. 60-58. The teams started slow and Pace was holding an 8-6 lead after the first quarter. Pace outscored the Huskies 18-17 in the second quarter to carry a 26-23 lead into the locker room. Pace edged Hewitt-Trussville 18-17 in the third quarter and held on through an 18-16 Huskie run in the fourth quarter for the slim victory. Whitewater defeated Elite Scholars 78-66. K'won Bush added 19 points and Omar N'Dengey added 18 points. Hosting Wooward got a 59-53 victory over Miramar, Fla.. Whitewater beat Elite Scholars 78-66. Westminster defeated University School (TN) 67-47. David Perchik's four 3-pointers led Westminster. For the girls, LaGrange beat Lovett 57-40 behind a 13-point effort from Jordan Ogletree and a 14-point performance from Vondez Taylor. Sparkman beat Lovett 80-49 and got 24 points from Deyana Dodd. Faith Moore added 13 points. LaGrange beat Elite Scholars 50-44 with Makelah Kelly scoring 15 points for LaGrange. Paideia defeated hosting Woodward Academy 49-26. Langston Hughes was led by Raven Thompson (20 points) and Ta'Mia Stargell (19 points) in its 63-21 victory over Westminster. Janine Mann led Starr's Mill with 22 points in its 61-47 victory over Mary Persons.

Cleveland Stroud Tournament at Rockdale High School: For the boys, Stone Mountain defeated Clarkston 53-42 and Eagles Landing beat Rockdale 51-40.

Savannah Holiday Classic at Johnson-Savannah: For the boys, Richmond Hill beat Beach 44-37 behind Isaiah Scott's 20 points. Jaeden Marshall added 13 points. Beach was led by Kendrell Mitchner's 10 points. Savannah beat crosstown rival Jenkins 55-52. For the girls, Richmond Hill defeated May River, S.C. 55-35. Richmond Hill was led by Nalexia Vann's 21 points. Chynna Sneed led May River with 11 points and Emma Peluso added 10 points. Glynn Academy beat Johnson-Savannah 68-64 behind Zoesha Smith's 27 points. Chmayia Miller added 26 points. Johnson was led by J'Mya Cutter (19 points) and Zoriah Mobley (17 points.)

Bear Brawl at Houston County: Jeff Davis beat West Laurens 82-77 after taking a 19-17 lead in the first quarter. Jeff Davis extended the lead with a 21-19 run in the second quarter and a 26-14 run in the third quarter. The Yellowjackets were able to hold on as West Laurens mounted a 27-16 run in the fourth quarter but the game was already out of reach. For the girls, Wheeler County beat Jeff Davis 60-41, PeachCounty pushed by HoustonCounty 50-43 and West Laurens defeated Bleckley County 56-46.

In other events for boys: At the Ola Christmas Tournament, Locust Grove defeated Northgate 65-52 as it had four players in double-figures. The Wildcats were fueled by a 17-point effort from Zay Johnson, a 12-point effort from David Laurent and an 11-point performance each from Renarldo Smith and Jason Grier. Carvers Bay, SC defeated East Hall 70-68 in the Carolina Forest Invitational … In the City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla., Glen Falls, N.Y. defeated Brunswick 80-65 … South Aiken, S.C. defeated Washington County 57-54 in the Savannah River Shootout in North Augusta, S.C … Marietta defeated South Paulding 73-65 in the Carrollton Christmas Tournament. Marietta controlled an 18-13 lead after the first quarter and a 28-26 lead at the break. South Paulding took control with a 12-7 run in the third quarter before Marietta's 24-point fourth quarter put the game away … Evans beat Thomas County Central 56-24 in the Battle on the Islands Tournament.
