Carter Pendley of Dalton added to his spring collection when he won the Trojan Invitational at Sunset Hills in Carrollton.

Pendley, a Clemson commit, shot rounds of 67-68 and won a playoff with Jonathan Parker of Columbus, who shot 70-65. Pendley has already won the Christian Heritage Invitational.

Dalton finished second in the team competition at 5-over, 10 shots behind the winning Spain Park team from Birmingham. St. Pius was plus-7 and finished third, with Columbus (16 over) and First Presbyterian Day (18) rounding out the top five.

St. Pius was led by Carter Loflin, who shot 71-68 and tied for fourth. Kyle Bachkosky of Starr’s Mill shot 69-71 and finished seventh.

The field was stacked. In the first round, 42 of 72 golfers broke 80. In the second round, 46 broke 80. Nine of the 12 teams in the field broke 600.

Floyd County Invitational: Josie McGraw shot 40 and Sydnie Edwards shot 42 to help Pepperell win the girls title. It was the fifth straight year the Dragons have won the nine-hole event at Meadow Lakes Golf Course in Cedartown. Armuchee was second at 108 and Rome was third at 125.
