The Lambert boys won the Area 3-AAAAAAA championship on Monday at Eagle Watch. The Longhorns shot a 10-over 298 to place first. Freshman Myles Jones shot a 4-under 68, Hilton Francine shot a 73 and Mitchell Taylor had a 75 to pace Lambert.

Lambert has been on a roll. The Longhorns set a team record with a 7-under 281 in the final round of the North Georgia Invitational, which pushed them into first place.

Boys

Area 2-AAAAA: Starr's Mill won the championship at Braelinn. Bryce Holloway and Mason Mayfield both shot 75s to lead the Panthers.

Area 4-AAAAA: Carrollton won the championship at Oak Mountain. The Trojans shot a 327 and defeated Riverwood by eight shots. The Trojans were led by Cole New, who shot 78 and finished third. He medalist was Hogan Ingram of Rome, who shot 3-over 75 and beat Mason Lee of Cass by one shot.

Riverwood had a season-best score of 335 and also qualifies them Raiders for the state tournament. Sophomore Phillip Clendenin shot 79, finished fifth overall, and Casey Scheele shot a career-best 82, including an eagle on the third hole. Freshman Jonah Hirsch and junior Connor Sewell each had 87s. The team had to play the last two holes in even par to make the sub-340 score required to make the state tournament.

Girls

Area 3-AAAA: Woodward Academy won the championship at Heron Bay. Ayanna Habeel shot 74, Morgan Ellison shot 76 and Teagan Fritts shot 77 for the War Eagles.

Area 4-AAAAA: Carrollton won the title at Oak Mountain. The Trojans shot a 283, easily defeating runner-up Cass. Carrollton counted an 87 from Taylor Gray, a 95 from Morgan Gray and a 101 from Abigail Duke. They were the top three finishers in the tournament.
