state’s top-ranked Lady Wolves (12-2, 3-0 Region 6) and No. 2 ranked Lady Golden Bears (13-2, 4-0). A Holy Innocents’ win would like move the Lady Golden Bears into the state ranking’s top spot, and would put them atop Region 6, assuming Wesleyan wins on Friday (more on that in a moment). This game also represents one of the best rivalries in the state. Last season, Holy Innocents’ swept the first three games of the series - including the Region 6 title game - before Wesleyan beat the Lady Golden Bears in the state title game, giving the Lady Wolves their sixth state championship in the last seven seasons.

But before the Lady Wolves take on Holy Innocents'... They play at the No. 6-ranked Lovett Lady Lions (12-4, 2-1) on Friday. That's a tough stretch of back-to-back road games, and Lovett could possibly position itself into a three-way tile atop the league with a win. The Lady Lions' lone region loss was to Holy Innocents', so if they beat Wesleyan, then the Lady Wolves beat Holy Innocents', things could get interesting.

This will be a big weekend for the top-ranked Thomasville boys: The Bulldogs head into the weekend 15-0 and 3-0 in Region 7. They will be put to test with back-to-back road games on Friday and Saturday that will have major implications for Region 7. First up is Early County (11-2, 3-0), followed by No. 9 Seminole County (10-3, 3-0).

Lovett boys at GAC: The Lions (9-0, 3-0 in Region 6) are the state's No. 6 ranked team. The Spartans are the state's No. 2-ranked team despite it's 8-6 overall record, though their 4-0 in league play. Saturday's matchup will be the opportunity for the Spartans to prove why they're ranked so high, and more importantly for both teams, it's an opportunity to take charge of first place of the Region 6.
