How the game was won: Both teams took turns reeling off 14 unanswered points, but it was Gainesville that finished strong to hold off host Loganville. The Red Elephants led 7-0 after one quarter and 14-0 at halftime before the home team mounted its charge. Loganville scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the third quarter to tie the score before Gainesville dominated on both sides of the ball in the fourth.

Top performers: Red Elephants' running back Chris Byrd rushed for two touchdowns, the last of which put his team ahead for the final time with 9:11 remaining. ... Messiah Dorsey threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Martavious Davis and the pair hooked up for a 42-yard completion that led to Byrd's game-winner. ... Chandler Staton kicked a 39-yard field goal to make it a two-possession game with fewer than six minutes left. ... Staton's field goal was set up thanks to an interception made by Demichael Borders. Gainesville finished the night with three interceptions. ... The Red Devils scored their two touchdowns on rushes of 20 and 21 yards by Darryl Giles.
