GHSF Daily asked Georgia head coaches to answer these four questions. We’ll report from a different head coach each day.
Todd Winter, Pinecrest Academy
1. What is the most memorable game you've been a part of as a player or coach? "Our St. Francis game last year. We were down 20-3 with 3:57 to play, then down 20-10 with 2:15 to play, and then down 20-17 with 2:00 to play. We then missed the field goal in regulation to tie, but they roughed our kicker and we got a second try and were able to tie the game at 20-20 and ended up winning in double overtime 30-27. [Winter sent us a video.]
2. Which high school coach would you want your son to play for, and why? "I am very fortunate that I get the opportunity to coach my son, but I would want him to play for Bob Gaddis, head football coach at Columbus East High School in Indiana. [Garrison Winter is a junior offensive lineman for the Paladins. Gaddis is an Indiana High School Football Hall of Famer from Winter's native state.]
3. What is your favorite saying/motto? "My favorite motto is, 'Work Wins.'"
4. Which GHSA policy or high school football rule would you most like to see changed? "Nothing at the moment."
