Two top 10 teams - No. 2 Fitzgerald and No. 9 Union County - lost on Friday.

Fitzgerald fell 21-17 to No. 10 Brooks County, a two-loss team that will surely receive a boost in the new rankings. It's unclear how far the Purple Hurricanes will slide, but they could fall out of the top five. Before Friday, no team had come within three scores of Fitzgerald. But Brooks County has Fitzgerald's number as of late, winning three of the last four contests.

Union County surely exits the top 10 after being handled 49-3 by No. 5 Rabun County, a team that will move up in the rankings with Fitzgerald's loss. Rabun County is currently on a four-game win streak over Union County, a run that began when coach Lee Shaw took over the Wildcats program.

Top-ranked Benedictine continues to roll with a convincing 27-3 win over Vidalia, a team that beat the Cadets last season. Since edging GAC in its double-overtime, season-opening victory, the Cadets have out scored their opponents 238-55.

The rest of the top 10 - No. 3 GAC, No. 4 Wesleyan, No. 6 Darlington, No. 7 Pace Academy and No. 8 Jefferson County - enjoyed a bye this week.
