Dutchtown sophomore basketball player Kamera Harris blocked 28 shots in a first-round victory over Veterans, a review of film by coach April Tate has confirmed. That's three more blocks than the recognized national record of 25 set by Brittney Griner in 2008.

Harris, a 6-foot-2 sophomore, was told by a former player after the game that she had 25, according to a story by Gabriel Stovall in the Henry Herald.

''I thought she was just playing at first until everybody started coming up to me saying the same thing,'' Harris told Stovall.

Tate then watched film the next day and documented  28 and and saw ''three or more that could've gone either way, according to the newspaper.

Harris averages 7.5 blocked shots per game. See her game-by-game breakdown. She's blocked at least 10 shots in seven games. Her previous best was 13 blocks against Stockbridge last month.

Dutchtown (17-7) won the game 53-48 and plays its second round game Monday night in Albany against Monroe.
