No. 3 Lithonia had to overcome an 8-0 deficit to No. 4 Columbia before it was able to gain control of the game and protect its perfect 11-0 Region 6-AAAA record with a 58-42 win over the visiting Eagles. Lithonia’s formula was a stifling defense and a game-high 18 points from junior Tyheem Freeman.

Columbia's early offensive success was matched defensively by five first quarter blocks from Micaiah Henry but Lithonia’s defense and overall depth slowly shifted the momentum into the Bulldogs' favor.

“That’s the second game in a row we got off to a slow start,” admitted Lithonia head coach Wallace Corker. “We just kept our poise, took care of the defensive side of the ball and let it happen.”

Freeman scored eight of his 18 points in the first quarter and kept Lithonia, now 15-1, in the game as the Bulldogs erased the hole and entered the second quarter trailing 11-9. Lithonia's Stephen Dunn stepped up offensively in the second quarter and netted all six of his points as they outscored Columbia 11-6 and gained a 20-17 halftime lead. Columbia (12-5, 7-3) tried to keep pace in the second half with Rodriquez Dennis and his team-high 16-points but Lithonia junior Rodney Chatman iced the game with 13 points and 9-of-10 shooting from the foul line.

Miller Grove 75, Clarkston 28: Miller Grove, the top-ranked team at Class AAAAA, advanced to 16-3 overall and 6-0 in Region 6 after defeating the Angoras who fall to 4-13 and 1-6 in region play. Alterique Gilbert led the visiting Wolverines with 20 points, seven assists, and 11 steals. Lamont West added 15 points and eight rebounds while Gamaun Boykin pitched in 11 points and four steals. Su Su Entongwe and Jacque LeSure led Clarkston with seven points apiece.

Cedar Grove 46, Blessed Trinity 20: Fourth-ranked Cedar Grove advanced to 12-2 overall and 6-0 in Region 4-AAA after knocking off No. 8 Blessed Trinity. The host Saints led 24-4 at the half after forcing 11 Titan turnovers. Jacara Cross led all scorers with 16 points and three blocks for Cedar Grove. Kenneth Lewis scored 13 and Christopher Fredrick tallied 10 points and seven rebounds. Cam Johnson led Blessed Trinity (14-3, 5-1) with eight points.

Woodstock 47, Roswell 42: Host Woodstock (4-12, 2-8 in Region-AAAAAA) was led by Dillon Morgan's 13 points. Marcus Foo added 10 points along with Dominic Hewitt's nine points to hold off the Hornets (7-11, 3-6). Sam Jessen finished with 15 points for Roswell while Solomon Michael netted seven in the loss.

Johnson-Gainesville 100, Buford 89: The No. 2 ranked visiting Johnson Knights received 42 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds from Ty Cockfield to move their record to 16-0 overall and 2-0 in Region 8-AAAA. Rod English scored 24 points for Johnson and grabbed seven rebounds while Andrew Sims pitched in 22 points. Buford (7-8, 1-1) was led by Tre Hansborough and Taylor Mills who scored 24 and 16 points respectively.

Pebblebrook 73, Westlake 63: Pebblebrook, ranked No. 3 in Class AAAAAA, moved to 14-2 overall and 8-0 in Region 3 with a tough win over Westlake (6-9, 2-5). Jared Harper led the Falcon offense with 20 points and nine assists. Trhae Mitchell scored 19 points and Georgia-commit Derek Ogbeide recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds. Clemson-commit Ty Hudson added 14 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds. Westlake was led by Raquan Wilkins who scored 25 points.

Lambert 73, North Forsyth 44: Tanner Hall and Andrew Melms helped the visiting Longhorns (15-3, 10-1 in Region 6 Class AAAAAA) shake off a slow start and knock off the Raiders. Hall and Melms both scored 15 points and Patrick Noble added 14 in the win after the Lambert trailed 12-9 after the first period. North Forsyth (6-12, 3-8) was haunted by 24 turnovers.

Harrison 69, McEachern 61 OT: The Harrison Hoyas (7-9, 3-4 Region 4-AAAAAA) came away with a huge overtime victory over the visiting McEachern Indians (12-5, 5-2). Ethan Weathers finished with a game-high 32 points to rally the Hoyas over the Indians. A.J. Jones scored 19 for McEachern and Brandon Caruthers pitched in 17 in the defeat.

Wheeler 100, Etowah 65: No. 1 ranked Wheeler (16-1, 8-0 Region 5-AAAAAA) rolled at home behind Shembari Phillips' seven 3-pointers in the first quarter. Phillips scored 25 points in the first quarter and Wheeler missed just two shots en route to a 37-11 lead after one. Phillips would finish with 39 points and eight 3-pointers. Brian Shaughnessy led Etowah (11-5, 4-4) with 21 points followed by 13 from Josh Fullenwider and 12 from Ryan Grigsby.

Collins Hill 51, Peachtree Ridge 46: The visiting No. 7 Collins Hill Eagles (15-2, 6-1 Region 7-AAAAAA) survived a scare from Peachtree Ridge (10-7, 3-4). Aaron Augustin led the upset-minded Lions with 17 points and four rebounds. Jeremiah Starks added 10 in the loss. Collins Hill finished with three players in double figures led by Devin Watson's 16 points. Kai Lambert finished with 13 while Jalen Mitchell pitched in 12 points.

Girls

Osborne 55, Hillgrove 48: Top-ranked Osborne improved is record to 16-1 overall and 7-0 in Region 4-AAAAAA. Osborne was led by Zutorya Cook with 23 points and Nikira Goings with 14 points. Hillgrove (9-6, 4-3) was led by Ja'Lyn Reese who scored 14 points and Victoria Jackson with 11.

McEachern 81, Harrison 57: No. 2 ranked McEachern moved to 13-2 on the season and 4-1 in Region 4-AAAAAA. Tennessee commit Te'a Cooper led the way with 27 points and 10 assists followed by Jada Lewis' 24 points and seven assists and Lynsey Whilby's eight points.

Stephenson 75, M. L. King 34: Top ranked Stephenson improved its record to 16-2 overall and 9-0 in region 2-AAAAA play and was led by Davion Wingate with 19 points, Miracle Grey with 15 points and Rhein Bezman had 10. Azhana Maxwell led M. L. King (1-14, 0-6) with 15 points and Alexis Wiley scored six points.

North Forsyth 56, Lambert 44: No. 8 ranked North Forsyth extended its record to 16-2 overall and 10-1 in Region 6-AAAAAA. Lochlain Corliss scored 15 points to lead the Raiders. Corliss was helped by Caroline Downs with 14 points and Kate Ware and Sydney Pefanis each had eight points. Lambert (8-10, 3-8) was led by Molly Williams with 12 points and Leah Cote with seven.

Archer 58, Dacula 40: Sixth-ranked Archer, improving its record to 13-3 overall and 7-1 in Region 8-AAAAAA, was led by the Newby sisters, Madison and Autumn. Madison scored 17 points, had six assists and seven steals, passing 500 assists for her career. Autumn scored 15 points with seven rebounds. Archer's Amber Skidgel scored seven points which pushed here over 1,500 for her career. Dacula (10-7, 4-4) was led by Jonnae Johnson with 25 points and Faustine Aifuwa with 12 points.

Columbia 71, Lithonia 12: Visiting Columbia took a 23-7 lead after the opening quarter and outscored Lithonia 48-5 the remainder of the game. Kyle Felton scored 14 of her game-high 17 points in the first half and teammates Malisha Harris and Natalie Williams each added 10 points to lift Columbia (10-6) to 6-5 in Region 6-AAAA play. Lithonia remains winless (0-10) in Region 6. Lithonia scored just one point in the second half.

Etowah 45, Wheeler 41: Etowah's coach Bob Westbrook won the 550th game of his career. The Eagles (8-8, 5-3 in Region 5) were led by Mikayla Miles with 15 points and Tory Janos and Brittany Tullis each had 10 points. Wheeler (5-9, 4-5) was led by Lena Yoonis with 14 points.

Woodstock 45, Roswell 28: Ninth ranked Woodstock extended its record to 16-0 and 10-0 in Region 5-AAAAAA. Woodstock was led by Kennedy Montgomery with 16 points, seven rebounds and four steals and Erin Braxton scored eight points. Roswell (3-15, 2-7) received seven points from Tatiyana Sekelick.

Jonesboro 70, Spalding 31: Jonesboro improves its record to 17-1 overall and 8-0 in Region 4-AAAA with the win. They got scores from Michaella Smith with 23 points, Amoni Walker with 16 points and Saadia Munford with 10 points. Kaleah Davis led Spalding (5-9, 3-4) with 14 points.
