Marietta won the boys Cobb County Championships with 45 points to second-place North Cobb’s 87. Walton came in third with 96 and Harrison (141) and Pope (147) completed the top five. Logan Poteet of Kell won the race with a time of 15:43.15.
Marietta also won the girls meet, edging Harrison by one point (62-63). Walton came in third with 70 points and Pope (93) and Allatoona (157) rounded out the top five. Ashley Kehoe of Pope (18:46.75) won the race.
Lowndes won the boys race and Veterans won the girls race at the 15th Annual Warner Robins Invitational Tuesday at Huntington Middle School.
In the girls meet, Jones County took second with 127 points, a far cry from Veterans’ 79. The rest of the top five included Lowndes (130), Perry (131) and Bleckley County (148). MacKenzie Morse of Lowndes won the race with a time of 20:50.53 while Veterans’ Bethanie Bailey came in second place with a time of 21:01.31.
In the boys meet, Michael Rowlands of Veterans took first place after finishing in 17:24.72 just ahead of runner-up Rob Ray of Perry (17:31.84). Behind first-place Lowndes (71 points) was Bleckley County (103), which was followed by Westover (115), Perry (133) and Spalding (222).
The Etowah boys edged West Forsyth for first place 97-99 at the Coach Benson Double Dip Invitational Saturday at Marist. Woodward Academy (103), South Forsyth (108) and Lakeside-DeKalb (123) rounded out the top five. John Green of West Forsyth won the race with a time of 16:43.60 while Marist’s Frank Pitt took second in 16:45. Spencer Fields of Darlington, Davis Stockwell of Lakeside-DeKalb and Alex Murfee of Woodward Academy rounded out the top five.
In the girls meet at the Double Dip, Morgan Ilse of Marist won the race in 18:45.50 while South Forsyth’s Savannah Carnahan took second with a time of 18:59.60. Serena Tripodi of Lovett came in third and was followed by Liz Galarza of West Forsyth and Kingsley Green of Etowah. Marist won the meet easily, with just 48 points, well ahead of runner-up West Forsyth, which had 97. Rounding out the top five was South Forsyth (100), Lovett (111) and Darlington (152).
At the Covered Bridge Run in Roswell, Milton won the boys race and Northview won the girls race.
Emma Grace Hurley of Fellowship Christian won the girls race with a time of 18:01.48, ahead of runner-up Lindsay Billings of Northview (18:07.22). Brookwood’s Lauren Flynt, Northview’s Anna Barefoot and Roswell’s Rachel VanAmburgh rounded out the top five.
Milton took second in the girls race with 69 points and was followed by Brookwood (120), Blessed Trinity (130) and Centennial (139).
Miles Yapp of Brookwood came in first in the boys race with a time of 16:29.09, ahead of Milton’s Jack Bluth (16:57.37). Milton’s Connor Cole, who was trailed by Roswell’s Brandon Tardiff and Brookwood’s David Giuliano, captured third place.
Brookwood had 42 points, which trailed only Milton’s 35. The top five was rounded out by Blessed Trinity’s 111, Northview’s 138 and Roswell’s 142.
