Colquitt County football coach Rush Propst has been placed on administrative leave with pay by the school board.

Colquitt County Schools superintendent Doug Howell confirmed the suspension to WALT-TV in Albany, the first to report the story. Howell did not reveal the cause for move, but confirmed that there is an investigation ongoing.

Propst was told of the suspension Tuesday morning, according to reports.

In 2016, Propst was suspended for a year by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission for head-butting a player on the helmet during a 2015 game. Propst won an appeal to return to the sidelines for the 2016 season.

Propst came to Colquitt County in 2008. His record at the Moultrie school is 119-35. His teams won state titles in 2014 and 2015 and was the Class AAAAAAA runner-up the past two seasons. Propst won five state titles as the coach of Hoover, Ala., and has 295 career victories in 30 seasons.
