Here’s what went down over the weekend in Week 4:

PAC wins without Vandagriff

Freshman QB Lucian Anderson completed 8-of-11 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 5 (Private) Prince Avenue Christian to a 49-3 win over Providence Christian (1-2), Friday. Anderson was subbing for junior Player of the Year candidate Brock Vandagriff, who broke a bone in his leg in last week’s 24-14 loss to No. 4 (Private) Wesleyan. Head coach Greg Vanadagriff, Brock’s father, said he could be back in time for the region crossover game and the state playoffs.

NCC wins late

No. 8 (Private) North Cobb Christian won “late” on two accounts to move to 3-0 for the first time in school history. Senior RB/DB Ryan Pruitt capped an 85-yard drive with a 2-yard touchdown run with 50 seconds left in regulation, to give the Eagles a 28-21 win over Class AA Monticello (0-3). The game took a total of 26 hours to complete. Lengthy lightning delays on Friday night forced it to be continued on Saturday evening.

Holy Innocents’ is back in the top 10

Holy Innocents’ is back in the private top 10 rankings after a 31-0 win Friday over Class AAA Rutland. The Bears are 3-0 for the first time in the 14-year history of the program, and back in the top 10 for the first time since 2011. In the win over Rutland, located in Bibb County, Holy Innocents’ outgained Rutland 288-119, even though the Bears only completed one pass in the game.

Wilcox County is back, too

The Patriots are back in the public to 10 rankings at No. 9, after they trounced Berrien 50-0 on Friday. Noah Hollingsworth rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries and passed for 42 yards and a touchdown. Desmond Tisdol had 102 yards rushing on eight carries and had four solo tackles.

Under Rob Stowe, in his first year as head coach at Wilcox, the Patriots are 3-0 for the first time since 2011. Stowe is attempting to lift the program back to the elite level of the 2001-2012, where the Patriots went 100-44 with five region titles and a state championship in 2009. Since then Wilcox has struggled, going 16-45 from 2013 to 2018 with one state playoff appearance.
