It had been a while since No. 6-ranked Warner Robins had enjoyed the type of success it experienced Friday against arch-rival Northside.

The Demons scored a 39-0 victory and improved to 4-1; the lone loss was a competitive 31-14 loss to Class AAAAAAA No. 5 Colquitt County.

The win extended Warner Robins’ lead in the series to 37-25 and was their third straight in one of the state’s most bitter rivalries. It was the first shutout for Warner Robins in the series since 1995, when Robert Davis’ No. 1-ranked Demons won 21-0.

Jalen Addie threw two touchdown passes and Ahmad Walker ran for two more to pace Warner Robins.

“Our guys came out and they were fired up,” first-year head coach Marquis Westbrook told Macon.com. “This rivalry is one of the best in the state and our guys played their hearts out.”

No. 1 Buford wins a thriller in OT: Treyton Rank is best known as a baseball prospect; the junior is a versatile right-handed pitcher, third baseman and catcher who has verbally committed to Florida State. But on Friday night he caught the game-winning two-point conversion pass from Jarvis Evans Jr. to give the Wolves a 29-28 win over Class AAAAAAA No. 10 Archer. Click here to read the game story.

Stockbridge comes back to nip Columbia: The No. 7-ranked Tigers needed some later heroics to turn aside winless Columbia. Jevon McDonald scored on a 20-yard run to put Stockbridge ahead 38-31, but Columbia scored with 2:33 remaining when Octavious Griffin fired an 11-yard touchdown pass. Columbia went for a two-point conversion and the victory only to have Stockbridge's Braxton Seward come up with an interception. Griffin ran for two touchdowns and threw for two others for Columbia, which has played a brutal non-league schedule and had its lone win of the season stripped because of rules violation.

Twelve straight wins for Bainbridge: The defending state champion Bearcats nipped Class AAA No. 7 Crisp County 14-9. Bainbridge scored the first 14 points on a pair of Quayde Hawkins touchdown passes, a 72-yard completion to Deyon Bouie and a 12-yard throw to Braxton Johnson. But the Bearcats didn't put the game away until they sacked Crisp quarterback Jack Carter and caused a fumble at the 13 with less than a minute to play. Bainbridge recovered and ran out the clock.

No letdown for Carrollton: The No. 2 Trojans (5-0) overpowered East Paulding 44-7 behind three touchdown passes from Myles Morris. Morris complete 12 of 20 passes for 181 yards. Carrollton showed no letdown after last week's big win over Rome.

Rome gives Cass a reality check: No. 8 Rome had no trouble in a 49-10 win over Cass, which had won three of its first four games. The Colonels had no answer for Rome's Ahijah Blackwell, who ran for 173 yards and three touchdowns. The Rome defense limited Cass to 87 yards.

No. 9 Griffin improves to 5-0: The Bears had no difficulties in a 41-14 homecoming victory of winless Whitewater to set up next week's showdown with defending Region 3 champion Starr's Mill. Coach Kareem Reid tweeted, "Proud of our effort tonight. Always good to start off region play with a 'W.' Still so much room to grow."

No. 4 Jones county, No. 5 Dutchtown and No. 10 Kell were idle.
