Class AAAAA blog: Close calls, but no upsets among the Top 10

No. 6 Dutchtown is finding its offense and recovering its defensive punch at the best time.
The Bulldogs may have nailed down second place in Region 4 with a 33-7 win over Henry County rival Stockbridge on Friday. Dutchtown (7-1) bounced back from a loss to Jones County to beat Stockbridge for the second straight year.
Quarterback Arendez Fedd ran for one touchdown and threw for two more scores and Nate McCollum ran for two touchdowns. The 33 points were the most the team has scored since a 59-14 win over Creekside in the second week of the season.
The Dutchtown defense forced four fumbles and limited its opponent to single figures for the fourth time in the last five games.
Interception sparks No. 3 Jones County: The Greyhounds were tied with Eagle's Landing 14-14 in the third quarter when a pass interception turned the momentum and led to a 38-20 win.
After getting the pick, Jones scored on Andrew Carner’s 15-run and scored 24 straight points to pull away. Evan West kicked a 25-yard field goal, Carner added a 32-yard touchdown run and Jontavis scored on a 47-yard run.
Jones County (8-0) scored twice in the first half. Quarterback Hunter Costlow ran for 2-yard score and threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to John West.
Jones County could clinch the Region 4 championship next week with a win over Ola.
Amazing Addie leads Warner Robins: The No. 4 Demons (8-1) got another stellar effort from quarterback Jalen Addie and outlasted defending state champion Bainbridge 28-21.
Addie scored on runs of 12 and 1 yards and threw an 80-yard touchdown pass to Donovan Haslem and a two-point conversion to Ahmad Walker. Walker scored the winning points on a 1-yard run with eight minutes remaining.
Bainbridge scored on a 1-yard run from Quayde Hawkins and a pass from Hawkins to Deyon Bouie. The Bearcats (5-3) took a 21-13 lead in the third quarter the Tahari Tate scored on a 23-yard blocked punt.
The win sets up a season-ending showdown against No. 8 Veterans for the Region 1 title.
Rome keeps rolling: The No. 6 Wolves (7-2) won their fifth straight game, a 52-0 win over Hiram. The win guaranteed Rome would finish second in Region 7. Rome has scored 238 points and allowed 24 over the last five weeks.
Rome led only 10-0 at halftime, but scored five times in the second half and totaled 429 total yards.
Ahijah Blackwell rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns, E.J. Burks ran for 117 yards and one touchdown and quarterback Caleb Ellard threw for 82 yards, including a 24-yard touchdown to Jay Wise, and scored on a 1-yard run.
The Rome defense limited Hiram to 57 yards and helped produce points. Jamie Perez recovered a fumble in the end for a touchdown and Jordan Neal recovered a fumble at the 4 that led to touchdown.
Big second half boosts Wayne County: The No. 7 Yellow Jackets (7-1) broke open a wild game with 21 unanswered points in the second half and defeated New Hampstead 56-35. The game was tied 35-35 at the half, with New Hampstead scoring 28 points in the second quarter.
Kell bounces back: The No. 10 Longhorns (6-2) rebounded from last week's loss to Carrollton to beat Cass 35-0. Quarterback Corbin LaFrance scored on a 14-yard run and hooked up with Camron Ball for a 75-yard score. Tyler Barrett added touchdown runs of 35 and 60 yards and freshman David Mbadinga added a 10-yard touchdown run
Ranked teams not in action on Friday were No. 1 Buford, No. 2 Carrollton and No. 8 Veterans.
