Round 2 of the Class AA tournament began on Wednesday, but there are still games to be played Thursday and we’ll focus on those games here.
For the GHSA's updated brackets — including results from Wednesday's action — go here for the boys, and go here for the girls.
Boys
Thomasville Bulldogs (22-6) at Woodville-Tompkins Wolverines (28-0)
When: 7 p.m. Thursday
Rankings, seeds: Thomasville is unranked and the No. 2 seed from Region 1; Woodville-Tompkins is No. 1 and the No. 1 seed from Region 2.
Krohn's pick: The Wolverines
Notes: Is this the round the defending state champion Bulldogs are eliminated? I asked that question last week and they beat No. 9 Butler, which I hadn't predicted. In fact, they won rather easily (66-52). A win on Thursday would be nothing short of a major, bracket-shattering upset. The Wolverines coasted to a 62-46 win over Dublin in Round 1. The Wolverines reached the quarterfinals last year in A-Public.
Washington County Golden Hawks (20-7) at Laney Wildcats (21-8)
When: 6 p.m. Thursday
Rankings, seeds: Washington County is No. 7 and is the No. 2 seed from Region 3; Laney is No. 8 and the No. 1 seed from Region 4.
Krohn's pick: Washington County
Notes: The Golden Hawks are coming off a 12 point win over Metter in Round 1, while Laney beat Brooks County 57-47. Should Laney win, it would mark the tenth consecutive season they've reached at least the quarterfinals; the Golden Hawks are looking to reach the quarters for the first time since '17.
Vidalia Indians (24-4) at Early County Bobcats (23-5)
When: 5:30 p.m. Thursday
Rankings, seeds: Vidalia is No. 3 and the No. 2 seed from Region 2; Early County is No. 10 and the No. 1 seed from Region 1.
Krohn's pick: Vidalia
Notes: The Indians rolled past Southwest-Macon, 62-46, to reach the second round are are looking to return to the state championship game. They've reached at least the quarters in five of the previous six seasons. The Bobcats, which edged Glenn Hills, 77-69, are seeking their second trip to the quarters in three seasons.
