Wednesday night's ACC game between Georgia Tech and North Carolina will be played.

Conference policy dictates that, so long as both teams and game officials can safely make it to the arena, the game will be played. The game is scheduled for  7 p.m. at McCamish Pavilion. The game is at or near sellout status, but the school is encouraging ticket holders not within walking distance to stay home.

“Given the incredibly unforeseen and unique set of circumstances over the last 24 hours in Atlanta, playing this game was a hard decision and one not arrived at without great thought,” Tech director of athletics Mike Bobinski said in a statement. “We sincerely regret that the weather conditions won’t allow a majority of our fans to attend the game. Due to the readiness of our opponent, our game officials and numerous event support staff, we believe that playing the game tonight, as scheduled, is our very best option.”

The game won't be telecast, however. It was scheduled to be broadcast on ESPN2, but safety concerns for the television crew led ESPN to cancel the broadcast. Fans can hear the game on 106.7 FM. It can also be viewed online on espn3.com. The Tech website will also transmit the radio broadcast at ramblinwreck.com/allaccess/.

Ticket holders who do not attend the game will be credited for the face value of their ticket for any Tech regular-season home game in the future. The Tech ticket office can be reached at 1-888-832-4849.

North Carolina arrived by plane into Atlanta around 11 p.m. Tuesday night. The Tar Heels team, eschewing a bus ride on the gridlocked interstate, took MARTA to its hotel. The last members of the traveling party reached the hotel around 1:45 p.m. The Tar Heels made it to McCamish for its day-of-game shootaround Wednesday afternoon.
