The Georgia Tech golf team will have to wait until Saturday to open play at the NCAA finals.

Rain caused three separate delays at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas, and prevented some teams, like Tech, from even getting to warm up. Coach Bruce Heppler’s team spent the day at the hotel except to go out for lunch, dinner and a possible movie.

Teams that went off in the morning wave completed as many as 11 holes. Tech was in the afternoon wave, in a grouping with Georgia and California.

Tee times for Saturday were pending as of Friday evening. According to the Weather Channel website Friday evening, there was a 50 percent chance of rain and a forecast of scattered thunderstorms. To stay on schedule, 30 teams need to complete 54 holes by Sunday night.
