Pleased to have you along for the game. Perfect weather, and it would appear, from attendance at 12:15, that many are choosing to enjoy it somewhere besides Bobby Dodd Stadium.
A couple notes: Will Bryan will start at right tackle in place of the injured Errin Joe. I believe Bryan is the first first-year freshman, and possibly first freshman of any stripe, to start on the offensive line since Shaquille Mason in the 2011 Sun Bowl.
B-back Patrick Skov took snaps with the first string in warmups. He and freshman Marcus Marshall were both listed on the starter line of the depth chart.
Broderick Snoddy, whom coach Paul Johnson said Wednesday was probably going to play, has his right hand in a cast.
A couple thoughts: It's possible Pitt isn't quite as strong as its record (4-1) would indicate. The strongest team the Panthers have beaten is Virginia Tech, ranked No. 32 in the ESPN power index.
I think a big key for Tech will be whether or not the Jackets can throw and take the heat off the run game. Worth noting: Pitt's defense is ranked No. 18 in the country in opponent pass completion percentage. (Again, not sure about strength of schedule.)
