Georgia Tech will play Virginia Tech on ESPN at noon next Saturday. The network and the ACC had already determined that the game would be played at noon either on ESPN or ESPNU.

Despite the Hokies’ 28-21 loss to East Carolina Saturday and Georgia Tech’s near-upset loss to Georgia Southern, the game will be on the ESPN’s main channel. It will be the Yellow Jackets’ first appearance on ESPN's main platform for a regular-season Saturday game since the North Carolina game last September.

The teams’ history for compelling games perhaps played a factor in the decision. Since coach Paul Johnson came to Georgia Tech, five of the six games have been decided by a touchdown or less and all six were decided in the fourth quarter.
