A fundraising website has been set up to help provide educational scholarships for the six children of fallen MARTA Police Officer Jesse Tarplin.

Operation American Dream launched the website last week with a goal to provide $5,000 for each child. Tarplin, 38, was killed Dec. 12 in a motorcycle crash while escorting a funeral procession in Atlanta.

He is survived by six children and his wife.

Operation American Dream seeks to honor him by rallying the Atlanta community to support Officer Tarplin's children. The charity was founded by Army officer Chuck Nadd and his wife, Shannon, in February 2014.

Operation American Dream seeks to fund education scholarships for the children of U.S. military, law enforcement, and fire rescue personnel who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

A GoFundMe account set up by his fellow officers, known as the Blue Line, to help the Tarplin family through the holiday season has raised $20,000 since December.
