The Hawks made Tim Hardaway Jr. and Edy Tavares as inactive for the season opener. “Each night we have to make decisions and go with a group,” coach Mike Budenholzer said when asked about Hardaway. “The active, inactive will probably change night to night as it does with every team.” … Budenholzer said that the minutes for Kyle Korver and Thabo Sefolosha will be a progression this season. “What we are thinking is progressing them into the season,” he said. Korver said he would play “as many minutes as Bud will let me.” … The Hawks re-did the retired number banners of Bob Pettit, Lou Hudson and Dominque Wilkins to reflect the era in which they played. .,.
