Since the Hornets' Lance Stephenson launched that improbable 3-pointer at the end of double overtime to beat the Hawks on Nov. 7, Charlotte has won just once. The Hornets have lost 10 of 11 games since the miracle, including their current eight-game losing streak.
But consider this about the Hornets early-season schedule. They start the season with 18 games in 32 days. Tonight's game against the Hawks ends a stretch of six games in eight days. They have already played the Warriors and Trail Blazers twice. The Hornets certainly haven't had an easy start to the season and could be one reason for their 4-13 start.
* Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer was non-committal about the status of Thabo Sefolosha before the game. The team upgraded Sefolosha to probable after he missed the past two games with flu-like symptoms.
"We'll see how the next couple of hours go," Budenholzer said. "My guess is that he will be available but it's still to be determined."
* For the Hornets, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (right foot stress), Marvin Williams (left shoulder sprain) and Gary Neal (left shoulder sprain) are all out.
