I have gotten a lot of questions about the Hawks pending trade with the Spurs for Tiago Splitter.

Here’s what I know:

* The deal will be done on July 9 and we can expect the details then.

* The Hawks will not give up a player on their current roster in the trade.

Here’s what I can speculate:

* The Hawks and Spurs figure to have a good working relationship. After all, now-President of Basketball Operations and head coach Mike Budenholzer spent 19 years in the organization. The deal should help both teams.

* I have to think that the Hawks taking Splitter and his $8.5 million salary helped the Spurs re-sign Danny Green (four years, $45 million).

Stay tuned.
