FLOWERY BRANCH – Falcons linebacker Sean Weatherspoon was hoping that on his return to the team that he’d be re-united with safety William Moore, his college teammate at Missouri.
But the Falcons released Moore on February 7th.
“We talked about the possibility about us being able to join up again, but we know the business of the NFL,” Weatherspoon said.

“We are prepared for these things.”
Moore, who’s kept a low profile during free agency, wants to continue playing.
“I don’t think Will’s last down has been played,” Weatherspoon said. “I think Will is going to play. We don’t talk much about ball. We talk about life, our kids, just getting together and just enjoying each other.”
Moore, who was 2009 second-round draft pick by Atlanta out of Missouri, played in 76 games with 72 starts and earned a Pro Bowl selection in 2012. Moore had 481 tackles (319 solo) with 16 interceptions, 3.5 sacks over seven years.
The Falcons selected Weatherspoon in the first-round (19th overall) of the 2010 draft. After playing a season in Arizona in 2015, Weatherspoon re-signed with the Falcons on March 11th.
They two were both together recently in Missouri.
“He’s on his grind,” Weatherspoon said. “It’s going to be sad not having him with me, but that’s just business.”
