FLOWERY BRANCH -- Here are five things to know about the Falcons on Tuesday:

1. Biermann visits Buffalo: Former Falcons defensive end Kroy Biermann visited the Buffalo Bills on Monday, according to the league's website. He was a fifth-round pick by the Falcons in 2008 out of Montana. He played in 114 games and made 37 starts. He was considered a "core" special teams player by coordinator Keith Armstrong, but was not able to cut it as a full-time defensive player. He played in 16 games last season with no starts. He was a "try-hard" guy with the Falcons and had 23.5 sacks. Now, the only real question is if Bravo will start a Real Housewives of Buffalo Show if  Biermann signs with the Bills.

2. North Gwinnett's Cook to Packers: Former Tennessee and St. Louis tight end Jared Cook, who played at North Gwinnett High, signed with the Packers on Monday. He picked the Packers over the Bears, Panthers and Falcons.

3. UGA's Boykin to Panthers: Former Georgia standout Brandon Boykin signed with the Panthers, who were looking for a nickel back. The Falcons are hoping that Jalen Collins, a second-round pick in 2015, can take control of the right cornerback spot and that Robert Alford can move inside to the nickel back.

4. Super Bowl bid bolstered: With the veto of the so-called "Religious Liberty/Discrimination" bill, the Atlanta Super Bowl bid for 2019 or 2020 was bolstered on Monday. Just a First Amendment primer for folks:  the First Amendment calls for the "establishment" of religion and the "free exercise" thereof. Nothing, in the five clauses of the First Amendment allow for discrimination. "We believe Governor (Nathan) Deal's decision was the right one for Georgia," Falcons spokeman Brent Jewkes sent in an email to me. (MY ASIDE: Let's fix the roads, get some mass transit trains that go to places, fix the schools, pay the teachers more and work on things of substance. Doesn't the legislature have something better to do?)

5. Upshaw's cash: Falcons linebacker Courtney Upshaw's one-year contract is worth $1.25 million with a $390,000 signing bonus. He has a $6,250 per game active bonus. Falcons coach Dan Quinn tweeted from UCLA's campus on Monday, where the Falcons were likely getting another look at linebacker Myles Jack.
