Crowds brought traffic and long lines to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on Monday morning as the busy Thanksgiving travel season continued.

Hartsfield-Jackson said security checkpoint wait times at the domestic terminal were 45 to 60 minutes long early Monday morning.

Traffic also backed up on roads approaching the terminal, affecting cars and shuttles.

Those heading to the airport for flights or to pick up passengers should allow extra time to get through congestion.

Heavy volumes of arriving passengers also caused crowds at Uber and Lyft pickup zones and shuttle pickup areas as Thanksgiving travelers returned to Atlanta. Those arriving back at Hartsfield-Jackson should also allow extra time to make their way through the crowds.
