A serious crash that involved a tractor-trailer tumbling off an overpass bridge in downtown Atlanta early Thursday morning led authorities to temporarily close multiple interstate ramps and roads.

The truck broke through a metal fence on the Fulton Street bridge just east of the Downtown Connector and plunged into a parking lot on Pulliam Street below about 3:30 a.m. While crews worked to remove the broken fence, the ramps from I-20 to the southbound lanes of the connector were shut down, according to the WSB 24-hour Traffic Center.

Traffic was flowing again by 6 a.m.

After the crash, both Fulton and Pulliam streets were also shut down but reopened later Thursday morning. Delays remained on Fulton Street after the highway ramps reopened as authorities investigated the crash scene.
