A firefighter battles hotspots in a cloud of smoke on I-285 Thursday morning, where at least two trucks collided and burst into flames.

Cleanup of the fiery I-285 wreck was expected to last all morning. Authorities do not expect to reopen the southbound lanes at Washington Road until noon Thursday.

Huge flames and clouds of black smoke could be seen high about I-285 on Thursday morning after a truck carrying lumber collided with another carrying 10,000 pounds of candles, and both caught on fire.

The lumber from the wrecked truck spilled onto the interstate and also went up in flames, authorities said.
