Tim Tassopoulos has been named president and chief operating officer of Chick-fil-A, the company said Friday.
A long-time veteran of the Atlanta chain, Tassopoulos, 56, most recently served as the company’s executive vice president of operations. He began his career with Chick-fil-A as an hourly, restaurant team member.
He is the fourth president for the privately held family company, which is known for its management stability and low turnover.

“Tim is a leader among leaders and has a time-tested track record of excellence in many areas of the business,” Chick-fil-A chairman and CEO Dan T. Cathy said in a release.
“The company’s secret sauce is its people and their ability to operate with consistent excellence,” Cathy, the son of founder, Truett Cathy, said. “Tim has devoted his career to selecting and growing great people who have gone on to make significant contributions to the business.”
