Aeropostale, a mall retailer that focuses on teen fashion, has filed for bankruptcy, according to reports.

The chain says it will close 113 stores in the United States and 41 in Canada in an effort to “achieve long-term financial stability.” The company has about 800 stores total.

Aeropostale has stores at Lenox Square, Cumberland Mall, Perimeter Mall, Southlake Mall and Mall at Stonecrest, according to the company’s website.

It is the latest chain in trouble in a turbulent retail environment that is fighting increase online shopping and changing consumer habits. Athletic giant Sports Authority also is closing stores while it undergoes bankruptcy proceedings.
