The Coca-Cola Foundation gave millions to metro Atlanta and Georgia colleges, charitable organizations and non-profits in 2015, the company said Thursday.
Those receiving support in the metro area and state include the Atlanta Community Food Bank ($20,000), Chattahoochie Riverkeeper Inc. ($30,000), Agnes Scott College ($250,000) and the PATH Foundation ($200,000).
The Atlanta beverage giant said it donated $84.5 million to nearly 300 organizations around the world last year. About 95 percent of the grants went to organizations that focused women’s issues, water and well-being, priorities the company said are core to some of its goals.
“Since 1984, The Coca-Cola Foundation has given back more than $820 million to communities in more than 200 countries across the world,” Bea Perez, Coke’s chief sustainability officer said in a statement.
