The Buckhead Atlanta development opened more than a year ago to fanfare, but the ritzy project in the city's poshest neighborhood has encountered a hiccup.
Contractors have filed liens or claims for unpaid work on the project totaling $3.2 million. Two contractors said this week they’ve stopped work on one of the ballyhooed restaurants planned there, a three-level steakhouse called American Cut.
Separately, shapewear company Spanx, which made waves when it moved its headquarters and announced a flagship store on the site, is long delayed in building the store and two people with knowledge of the situation said the store might not happen.
Developer OliverMcMillan said it is working to resolve the lien issue and the owner of American Cut said this week that while the restaurant is going to be delayed until sometime next year, the company is committed to Atlanta and the vision of the ambitious project.
