What does it take to get you smiling at work? Right off the bat we can think of a few things, but they're all free breakfast tacos. B2B marketplace company Expert Market recently dug a little deeper when it analyzed the 50 happiest ranked companies (as determined by employee reviews) in America.
The most revelatory thing Expert Market found was how female leadership numbers compare at "happy" companies and unranked ones. While only 4.8 percent of companies in the nation have female CEOs, 14 percent of the ranked companies were led by women. Additionally, the percentage of female board members at the ranked companies was 5 percent higher than the average for other large companies.
While only 4.8 percent of companies are headed by women, 14 percent of the happiest companies are.
So how much does a happy employee make? The average salary among the ranked companies was $67,2100. That's pretty comparable to the what has previously been identified as the happiest salary: $75,000. After this amount, economists have found an "income plateau" is reached and day-to-day contentment ceases to increase.
