Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs will be without one of his main targets in the Vols' season opener against Bowling Green.
Head coach Butch Jones announced that senior wide receiver Pig Howard will be suspended for Tennessee's first game of the season due to a violation of team rules, according to Afternoon host on The Sports Animal, Jimmy Hyams.
Howard is a 5-foot-8, shifty wideout who is both a threat in the air and on the ground. Expectations are high for Tennessee this season, and while a one-game suspension against Bowling Green isn’t likely to derail a season, it’s never good for a senior leader to earn a suspension.
Howard led the Vols in receiving the last two seasons, and will be a likely candidate to do it again this year. He will just being playing catch up.
