The 6-foot-4, 295-pound defensive tackle, who committed to Kentucky last month, felt great about his choice.

“I think I made a good decision,” the 3-star recruit confidently told the AJC. “100 percent.”

Although Smith seems locked in on the Wildcats, he did not hesitate to bring up one team that has remained in contact.

“Miami,” Smith blurted out when asked which teams he had heard from. “Miami is on me right now.”

So with the Hurricanes coming hard after Smith’s services, what would it take for them to lure the massive defender away from the SEC?

Nothing that can come to mind?

“I’m straight,” Smith said, eager to get away from the subject. He’s thrilled with Kentucky.

The 3-star recruit has a gift at conveying his meaning with few words. His other gift, terrorizing opposing players, is something that Kentucky will be pleased to have.

Smith is rated as the No. 52 overall prospect in the state of Georgia.
