Georgia Tech gets 1st basketball commit for 2016

Christian Matthews, a 6-foot-6 forward from Maryland, committed to Georgia Tech while on an official visit with the Yellow Jackets, per Rivals.com's Dan McDonald.

Matthews, who is Georgia Tech’s first commit for 2016, attends National Christian Academy in Fort Washington, Md.

He is unranked by Rivals, but reports offers from N.C. State, Rhode Island and Temple, among others.
