Four Ohio State players, most notably All-America defensive end Joey Bosa, have been suspended for the team's season opener after violating an athletic department policy, ESPN first reported.

The Buckeyes will be without Bosa, a potential No. 1 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, halfbacks Jalin Marshall and Dontre Wilson, and receiver Corey Smith for their opener against Virginia Tech on Sept. 7.

ESPN's Joe Schad indicated that the suspensions were "due to marijuana and academics."

This is hardly the first time that something like this has ever happened under Urban Meyer's watch, and it's certainly far from the worst.
