Here's the breakdown of UGA's newest commitment by former Bulldogs great Terrence Edwards for the AJC:
Charlie Woerner, the nephew of UGA football legend Scott Woerner, committed to the Bulldogs over Alabama and Oregon last week. He's rated as the state's No. 13 overall prospect but would likely be top five if he did the camp circuit.

The first thing that jumps out to me on film: Charlie Woerner is the unique athlete that he is. His skill set is very unique, in the aspect of him being able to play multiple positions on the football field. Rabun County does a great job and finding ways to get him the ball in open space, so he can use his size and speed to create explosive plays. For a player standing 6-5 and weighing 230 pounds, he moves like a smaller and quicker athlete then someone normally of his size.
What I like: What makes Charlie special is his unique blend of size and speed. He plays multiple positions for his high school, so that allows him to understand the game from not only the receiver and tight end position, but as a running back as well. The most notable trait other then his unique physique, is his burst after he has the ball in his hand. He doesn't waste time running East/West as he gets North/South very quickly. He has very good balance as a runner, and he doesn't usually allow an arm tackle to bring him down.
What he needs to improve upon before he gets to UGA: His route running abilities. He is very raw as a true wide receiver. With him playing multiple positions in high school, he has not perfected the craft at any position. When he gets to UGA and can only concentrate on one position, his techniques and understanding of that position will improve dramatically.
How I expect UGA to use him: I expect UGA to use him as a flex tight end. With his body frame, I think he will outgrow the receiver position and become the pass-catching tight end that teams are using as a flex slot wide receiver like Jimmy Graham. Charlie will be a mismatch against slower linebackers and too big for a free safety or strong safety to cover him.

Who he reminds me of that played at UGA: UGA doesn't have a player on their roster that reminds me of Charlie Woerner. After studying his film, I can't think of a person with his size and speed to compare him too. He's truly a unique athlete.
Terrance Edwards starred at UGA from 1999 to 2002, finishing his Bulldogs career as the SEC’s all-time leading receiver in yards and No 2 in receptions. Edwards still holds several UGA receiving records. He played for the Atlanta Falcons in 2003, and recently retired after nine seasons in the CFL.
