“It was a great atmosphere and everything,” Jones told the AJC. “It was like a lot of kids, like especially a lot of wide receivers and stuff like that so everybody’s wanting to get their shine on.

“It wasn’t like too much you can do because it was overpopulated with wide receivers but it was pretty good.”

However, Jones did not walk away from Saturday night with an offer from UGA. As it stands now, Jones is still sturdy in his commitment to USC in part due to a strong relationship with Trojans receivers coach Tee Martin.

“For me USC is the best school that fits me so that’s the reason I’m with them now,” Jones said. “It’s just they offered me the best out of everybody else.”

Nevertheless, Jones would entertain an offer from the Bulldogs. He praised UGA as a good school and said it would be a good backup plan if something were to happen with USC.

He also wouldn’t rule out the possibility of changing his commitment as more offers start to roll in.

“I really couldn’t say about that (flipping) but you never know,” Jones said. “Georgia’s a good school. People change their minds all the time, like probably at the last second or, you know, sometimes universities take their offers back.”

Prior to Dawg Night, Jones told the AJC that his intention was to compete. On that front, he was somewhat disappointed.

In the one-on-one drills, Jones said he only got two reps and didn’t get to make a catch.

“One time I got in I beat him to the inside but they didn’t throw the ball,” Jones said. “The other time I got in I had pushed him by and like they just threw it wide right but it was like after that it was like too many kids to get in.”

Jones did, however, get his first opportunity to interact with the Bulldogs’ coaching staff. Jones said that he spoke to coach Mark Richt, who expressed Georgia’s interest in Jones and said they’d “keep and eye out” for him this season.
