UGA offensive lineman commit Chris Barnes is coming to "Dawg Night" this week, but next weekend he will be in a rival's backyard.

Barnes told the AJC on Wednesday night that he’ll be Florida’s “Friday Night Lights” in Gainesville on July 24. That’s Florida’s elite camp for its most sought-after recruits.

Why is the three-star offensive tackle making the trip?

“(The trip) is more about me working on my technique and getting different coaching styles,” he said.

Does that still mean he’s solid with UGA?

“Oh yes,” he told the AJC. “I’m solid to UGA. I am a Dawg.”

Barnes, a 6-foot-5, 270-pounder, committed to UGA back in April. The rising senior at Lee County ranks as the No. 56 offensive tackle for 2016 based on the 247sports composite ranking.
