Steve Spurrier wasted no time taking shots at other SEC programs.

Spurrier’s South Carolina Gamecocks finished the 2014 season with a 7-6 record, which was the same as conference foes Tennessee and Arkansas.

Unlike the Gamecocks, Spurrier says the Volunteers and Razorbacks are still celebrating as if they had good years.

“We got rejuvenated. We got new life,” Spurrier said at SEC Media Days. “We were 7-6 — same as Tennessee and the same as Arkansas — and I think they’re sort of celebrating big seasons last year.

“So we were celebrating also. We were doing some cartwheels and high-fiving after that Independence Bowl game because it was a year that could have gone real south, and guys hung in there and somehow or another found a way to win the game.”

Expect Tennessee head coach Butch Jones to throw a counter on Tuesday, as he is 2-0 against Spurrier.
