Mississippi State beat out some of the nation’s top football programs for a tight end from McEachern High School on Tuesday.

Christian Roberson committed to Mississippi St among his 17 offers, which included Florida, Michigan and Miami.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder is rated as a 3-star and is listed as the state’s No. 67 prospect.

Roberson is the 12th commit for the Bulldogs in the class of 2016 and is the first tight end prospect for their class. He told the AJC on Monday that he will likely attend UGA’s Dawg Night prospect camp this Saturday.
