The “state’s hottest college football prospect this spring” would like to pick up a scholarship offer from UGA.
Antonneous Clayton is a 3-star defensive end from Dooly County High School, the alma mater of former 5-star Montravius Adams (now at Auburn).

Over the last six weeks, Clayton picked up offers from Alabama, Florida, Notre Dame, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Miami, among others.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pounder has also flirted a little bit with UGA.
“Yes, they still haven’t offered me yet,” Clayton told the AJC. “I don’t know why they haven’t offered me yet. It’s crazy. I love Georgia. But they haven’t offered me so that love is kind of fading away now.”
“They said the only reason they haven’t offered me yet is because they don’t know where I would play in college – outside linebacker or defensive line. That’s what Coach Sherrer told me. That’s why they said they haven’t offered me yet. They want me to come to camp this summer. I’m going to go up there and see what happens.”
Clayton said that he will also likely go to camps this summer at Alabama, Auburn, Florida and Clemson. Which college is his favorite? “I really don’t have any leaders now,” he said. “But I have to break some of this stuff down soon. I have to talk to my family and pray about it.”
Along with UGA, Clayton said he’d also like to get an offer from Oregon.

2. Name to remember: I bumped into UGA assistant coaches at high schools all over the Atlanta area this spring, and one incoming freshman they are really high on is Juwuan Briscoe, the 3-star cornerback from Maryland. They feel like he was vastly underrated. I caught up with Briscoe for an interview that you can read HERE. What was the biggest secret he kept during the recruiting process? "I knew I was going to go to UGA about 2-3 months before I (committed in January)," Briscoe said. "I slept on it. I really thought about it. And I felt it inside that Georgia was the place for me. But everybody asked me 'Am I going here or there?' And all the little reporters were predicting me to go to Ohio State. But I knew I was going to Georgia for a while. I just didn't tell anybody. It was a gut instinct. It was being able to play in the SEC, it was for the opportunity to play for Coach Pruitt, and it was just knowing what he did in the past." Briscoe also described UGA coaches Mark Richt, Rob Sale and Jeremy Pruitt as "father figures."
3. It works both ways: Remember how awkward it was last week when two kids both committed to UGA … and then promptly announced that they will still be visiting other schools? I know that seems odd, but that's just the way it works in the wacky world of recruiting these days (personally, I feel like college coaches can be the biggest cause for that because they often pressure the kids to commit early, but that's a different topic for another day). Now the good news for UGA is things like that also work in favor of the Bulldogs. Cornerback Chauncey Gardner of Cocoa, Fla., is committed to Florida, but will make UGA one of his five unofficial visits during the first week of June. Gardner's high school teammate, cornerback Bruce Judson, is committed to Ohio State but tweeted out that he will visit nine schools this summer, including UGA. And you can expect more kids committed to other schools to visit the Bulldogs over the summer.
4. All-Star recruiting: I've never really paid close attention to which elite football prospects go to which national all-star games because … there doesn't seem to much interest about that from the general public. That's not a knock against any of the games, which are always outstanding productions. With that said, there were some interesting developments this past weekend that may help UGA with recruiting. Demetris Robertson, who is rated as the nation's No. 1 overall "athlete" prospect, was picked for the U.S. Army All-America Bowl. Robertson is from Savannah, recently de-committed from Alabama, and is one of UGA's top targets. It looks like it may come down to the Bulldogs vs. Stanford for Robertson, and UGA is hoping that his close connections to his family will keep him around these parts. Meanwhile, UGA 5-star QB commit Jacob Eason flipped from the Under Armour All-America game to the U.S. Army Bowl this past weekend. So Eason will get to spend a whole week a month before signing day throwing spirals and conversing with Robertson.
