Jimbo Fisher will make somewhere around $5 million this year.
He's the only coach in the ACC who will earn more than $4 million a year. By contrast, 10 SEC coaches will make at least $4 million in 2015, led by Nick Saban's $7.1 million.
Here's the ACC breakdown, although it's incomplete because the conference's private schools aren't required to release the salaries of their employees. (Many of these salaries are from USA Today's annual report.)
- Jimbo Fisher, FSU, $5 million
- Dabo Swinney, Clemson, $3.39 million
- Paul Johnson, Georgia Tech, $3.02 million
- Bobby Petrino, Louisville, $3 million
- Frank Beamer, Virginia Tech, $2.67 million
- Mike London, Virginia, $2.4 million
- Al Golden, Miami, $2.3 million
- David Cutcliffe, Duke, $1.84 million
- Larry Fedora, North Carolina, $1.83 million
- Dave Doeren, N.C. State, $1.8 million
- Pat Narduzzi, Pittsburgh, not released
- Steve Addazio, Boston College, not released
- Dave Clawson, Wake Forest, not released
- Scott Shafer, Syracuse, not released
As you can see, the ACC lags behind the SEC when it comes to football salaries, but it’s probably what you expect in a conference where basketball is king.
