The No. 1 receiver out of the state of Georgia has backed off his commitment to Alabama.

Demetris Robertson, who is rated as the state's No. 4 overall prospect for 2016, announced his plans on Twitter on late Friday night.

“After careful consideration with my family, I’ve decided to officially re-open my recruitment,” Robertson said.

Could UGA land Robertson? The Bulldogs appear to have a good shot, as assistant Mike Ekeler traveled to Savannah Christian Prep earlier this week to observe Robertson on the first day of the NCAA’s spring evaluation period.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Robertson had originally committed to Alabama last summer.
