Brice Ramsey, Faton Bauta and Jacob Park all stayed around to talk to reporters after practice Tuesday. The three quarterbacks shed some light on how the competition for a starting position is being conducted and what it’s like working with coordinator Brian Schottenheimer opposed to former OC Mike Bobo.

I’ll have more on the players’ observations of “Schotty” in a story I’ll file later today. In the meantime, the quarterbacks characterize theirs as a true, three-man race, with all the players getting equal reps with the No. 1 offense.

Jacob Park, the redshirt freshman from Goose Creek, S.C., was particularly interesting to talk with. He excited everybody on the team last year with his big plays on the scout team. But he’s having to sharpen his skills as he competes for a starting job.

“I created a lot of bad habits,” Park said. “I’d just chuck-and-duck. I didn’t have good protection last year on scout team, I didn’t really trust my protections, so I tend to scramble out of the pocket a lot. But at the same time, I got to see how Pruitt’s defense works and make a few reads that I see happening.”
