Kennesaw State held its final scrimmage before the Owls play their Black and Gold spring game March 28.
“I thought we came out with more energy than we did last Saturday and then things happened early on, mainly self-inflicted, and everything died a little bit,” coach Brian Bohannon said in a news release.
“There were some positive things out here today, it’s just overall when you can’t take a snap, you can’t stay onside and you have penalties on two big plays you don’t give yourself a chance. We have to do a better job as a staff and the kids have to do a better job with their accountability. We have to continue to grow as a young football team.”
According to Kennesaw State, redshirt freshman defensive back Shawn Reynolds led the defense with big hits and a pass breakup.
“The coaches always preach to us to fly to the ball and make plays, and that’s what helped the defense today,” Reynolds said in the news release.
Redshirt freshman Jake McKenzie played the majority of the snaps at quarterback and led the offense to a touchdown on the final drive of the scrimmage. McKenzie scored on a short run.
