The Dodgers signed former Braves pitcher Brandon Beachy, the team announced Saturday.

The team reported the terms of the deal as a one-year contract for $2.75 million, with a club option for 2016 that ranges from $3 million to $6 million, depending on how much he pitches in 2015.

Two interesting tidbits:

  • Dodgers executive Pat Corrales watched him work out last month. Corrales is a former Braves coach and front-office member.
  • The surgeon who performed the second of Beachy's Tommy John surgeries, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, is the Dodgers' team doctor.
