GEORGIA STATE

Number of commitments: 16

Expected class size: 18, including three delayed enrollees from last year's class

Rankings: Georgia State is rated No. 119 of 137 FBS schools.

News of the week: The Panthers gained one commitment, but lost two. The newest recruit is Matlin Marshall, a quarterback from Evans. He also claimed offers from Air Force and Marshall. "I think he could end up on offense, possibly as a receiver," PantherTalk.com's Ben Moore said. Meanwhile, Mays linebacker Charlie Patrick flipped to Troy, while Jaleen Thomas of Dothan, Ala., reneged for undisclosed reasons.

What to feel good about: Mill Creek running back Jonathan Hawkins, who claimed early offers from N.C. State and Auburn, took an official visit last weekend. He's going to Buffalo this week … The Panthers are still flirting with Tyler Cross, a defensive tackle from Chapel Hill High who committed to Syracuse.

What to worry about: Depending how things go, the Panthers could be searching to fill one or two spots on signing day.

Quote of the week: "It looked like it was going to be a quiet signing day. You kind of knew who was going to be in. But it has been anything but that with the recent de-commitments and movements from side to side, it. As we have seen, people everywhere have been flipping all over the place in the last two weeks. We'll see what happens. Georgia State may flip an ACC commit, as well as lock in on a running back locally and count themselves lucky with this 2015 class." — Moore

Up next: One of Georgia State's top remaining targets, Buford linebacker Konnor Houston, will visit Colorado State this weekend. His brother played for coach Mike Bobo at UGA.
